No matter how tough or ruthless UFC fighters look in the Octagon, they still have hearts. They get happy like all of us and sad when they lose something or someone precious. When they do, they too have families and friends who come with their warmth and support. Former two-time UFC champion Bantamweight fighter Dominick Cruz recently had to deal with a massive loss. He lost his father, Rogelio Cruz.

Daniel Cormier & Ryan Clarke sent their condolences to the starfighter and his family. Daniel Cormier talked about his time with the Cruz family and how he knew the family will come out strong and support each other.

Dominick Cruz has had an illustrious career at the UFC. He is a very respected fighter. His professional record reads 24 wins and 4 losses.

The fighter has been an absolute legend of the fighting game, and DC & RC stood firm with the warrior, sending him the warmest messages of support in times of grief.

Daniel Cormier sends his Condolences to the Cruz Family

Daniel Cormier remembered meeting the Cruz family, Ryan Clarke first mentioned Cruz‘s loss as he said, speaking of Dominick Cruz I just want to give my condolences and also all the condolences and prayers and blessings from DC and RC Dominic lost his father this weekend.”

He further added, “for the entire cruise family we are extremely, extremely sorry for your loss.” He then asked Cormier to share his experience.

Cormier said,” yeah absolutely you know losing your dad is so difficult and so tough and for Dominick Cruz, his father Rogelio, is uh it’s so sad and my brother I will pray for you every single day for you to get through this tough time, pray for your mother and your family.”

Dominick Cruz had a tough childhood

Dominick Cruz had a tough childhood. Cruz‘s father was a drug addict and abandoned the family. He spent the majority of his childhood with his single mom, with few resources that her mother’s meager earnings could afford. However, wrestling changed things Cruz did when he was introduced to it in seventh grade.

It was like an escape for Dominick Cruz, who was now grappling away from his issues at home. He dreamed of becoming a professional wrestler, but injuries cut his dream short. He had to become “the man of the house” as his father had asked him to be before leaving.
