He said, “Yeah, I think they’re finally excited for, you know, the bantamweight championship fight. Not that Henry vs. Aljo wasn’t exciting; it was up there. I know Hunter is excited, I know UFC is excited, and the fans are very excited. So I think it is just a different level; it is a big fight.”

A record-breaking benchmark from the past
UFC 288 did indeed establish an incredible record. The event featured the current bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling, defending his title against Henry Cejudo in the headliner. The event, however, was successfully able to touch almost a whopping $56 million mark due to its pay-per-view sales. In fact, it had nearly 770K pay-per-view buys, each costing $79.99.
Interestingly, Cejudo returned after a span of 3 years to the octagon, and that too for a title bout. He did, however, give a tough fight to the bantamweight champion but was not successful in gaining the gold. Well, O’Malley seems confident of breaking the same record as he made his desires evident in the interview. With such a huge opportunity up for grabs, could O’Malley raise the bar, eventually? Let us know in the comments.
