Conor McGregor, the former UFC lightweight champion, is making his comeback to the UFC as a coach for TUF 31. The highly anticipated season will see McGregor’s team facing off against Michael Chandler’s team on May 30th. The end of the season will culminate in a fight between McGregor and Chandler inside the octagon. However, McGregor needs to enter the USADA testing pool and clear 2 negative tests before fighting inside the octagon. Fans are quite doubtful of this.
This news comes in after the BMF champion Jorge Masvidal shut down the discussion about McGregor fight. Moreover, the weight class of the Chandler-McGregor fight alongside the date and venue remains unclear.
The return of McGregor to the UFC has generated a lot of excitement and anticipation among fans. However, it seems that every time McGregor finds his opponent, an additional issue pops up. Nevertheless, fans are eagerly waiting for this exciting matchup, and the TUF season promises to be filled with thrilling moments and unforgettable action.

Conor McGregor needs to clear these hurdles before stepping inside the octagon
McGregor has to clear some hurdles before he can step inside the octagon. He needs to enter the USADA testing pool and clear 2 negative tests. This stipulation has created some doubts among fans about the fight. However, it is important to note that coaches are not subject to this requirement, and McGregor can choose to coach the TUF 31 without entering the USADA pool. This move by the UFC is being seen as a smart one, as it avoids any trouble with their biggest superstar.
A noted journalist, Damon Martin, gave some insight in regard to this. He said, “As of today, Feb. 4, Conor McGregor still hasn’t re-entered the USADA drug testing pool, per USADA officials. It’s not required for TUF coaches (obviously) but he will still need 6 months of testing before fighting Michael Chandler”
As of now, it remains unclear when will ‘Mystic Mac’ enter the USADA pool. However, the TUF 31 season ends on August 15th. Thus, if the first UFC double division champion wishes to fight post-TUF 31, he’ll have to re-enter somewhere around the end of March at least. It remains unclear how it will affect his physique and performance.
