Can Raufeon Stots' 'rabid' approach steal the spotlight from Ngannou's much-anticipated return?

Everybody’s been talking about the Predator’s return for another eight-sided cage action at PFL Super Fights: Battle of the Giants. Francis Ngannou has got everybody’s attention ahead of his upcoming matchup against Renan Ferreira. That seems to have made another return go under the radar as bantamweight star Raufeon Stots is making his match-awaited comeback this weekend, and he sat down for a chat to shed some light on it in an exclusive interview with EssentiallySports.

It has been a while since Raufeon Stots has graced the combat arena. In fact, it’s been almost a year since he last threw down his fists inside the cage. After his loss to Patchy Mix, when his 11-fight winning streak ended, ‘Supa’ bounced back against Danny Sabatello, making it his 20th career with and 12th by decision. Now, Stots is going to close out the prelims card of PFL Super Fights: Battle of the Giants against the 26-year-old Marcos Breno, and he spoke about that matchup as we approach the fight this weekend.

The 20-2, 35-year-old veteran’s chat with EssentiallySports saw him share a bit about his “gameplan” for the upcoming fight. Despite being 26 years old, Marcos Breno is a pretty experienced fighter as he has 18 (15 wins and 3 losses) professional fighters under his belt, which is just four fights less than his opponent who’s 11 years older than him.

So, will Stots try to do something different? Well, he’s planning to fight like he usually does. “There is no specific game plan going into the fight,” Raufeon Stots told EssentiallySports. But there’s one thing to keep an eye out for against Marcos Breno as the veteran intends to be alert when it comes to maintaining his distance with the 26-year-old up-and-comer.

“It’s like the battle of – Francis Ngannou and Renan is like the battle of the big giants, and this is like the battle of the little giants. ‘Cause we’re gonna just be f—ing rabid and go after each other, but obviously we’re a little smaller than frickin’ heavyweights. Yeah man, I’m excited man,” Raufeon Stots told ‘Sports Illustrated.’ What do you think will this fight be able to give Ngannou vs Ferreira a run for their money?
