Max Holloway, the reigning BMF champion is set to take on Ilia Topuria at UFC 308 for the featherweight gold. However, this clash might have proved hard for Jorge Masvidal because of a certain dilemma. ‘Gamebred’ is a force to be reckoned with who has faced eminent opponents in the UFC over the years. He is the first-ever BMF title holder and had some words for both ‘El Matador’ and ‘Blessed’ while speaking to Andrew Whitelaw for an exclusive conversation with EssentiallySports.
Whitelaw asked him about his views on the upcoming title fight in Abu Dhabi and who he thought would win. Masvidal shared his predicament regarding the fight matchup, explaining that he liked both fighters and that it was hard to choose between them. ‘Street Jesus’ also shared that he wanted to be in the venue to witness it live, but due to personal engagements, he could not be there. Naturally, the former UFC fighter emphasized both the fighters’ strengths and personalities.
Masvidal said, “Oh my gosh if I could be there live, I would be their live man. I have been talking about how he listens; the second UFC fight. I’ve been telling everybody this guy’s gonna be a world champion! A good friend of mine to this day, um love this fu**** kid he is just a good kid bro. And Max; is one of my favorite fighters of all time, literally. One of my favourite fighters you know in and out of the cage. I love this guy’s things remember just fu** stand up just a great dude.”

The owner of Gamebred FC further added, “ We’re on the way that he fights I fu** love it man, and um what a fight bro. That is a fight I wanna see. It was not over there and if I wasn’t busy over here I’d a 100% but it was anything else but Saturday which I would like to go over there it’s just man, it’s a hike for me. It’s a long one so it’s the only reason I am not there physically at that fight but I wanted to be live for them.”
Masvidal shared a similar emotion while speaking about the same on MMA Fighting on SBN with Damon Martin. He expressed his love for Holloway’s fighting style and how the latter conducts himself outside the octagon. However apart from praising the two featherweights, the former UFC star also spoke about his rivalry with Conor McGregor in this ES Exclusive interview.

Jorge Masvidal does not consider McGregor’s promotion to be the best
While Gamebred FC is Masvidal’s brainchild, BKFC is like an adopted kin for Conor McGregor. The latter might not be fighting inside the octagon but has kept himself busy by involving himself in taking his latest venture to new heights. However, it did not impress Jorge Masvidal and during the same exclusive interview with our host Andrew Whitelaw, he shared his nonchalant opinion of the success of BKFC. He echoed the superiority of his fighting juggernaut, by adding that it would surpass BKFC in no time.
“I don’t watch bare-knuckle boxing; I could give a f–k unless I watch boxing. But bare-knuckle MMA is what I f—ing love. You know, it’s a raw form of combat; that’s how combat started. This is not embarrassing; bare-knuckle boxing is not necessarily bare-knuckle boxing because the rules are different. They have the clinch; they have rounds that are different,” said Masvidal in the interview.
