Ever since Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg traded callouts on Twitter, the MMA community can’t resist talking about their proposed bout. The two billionaires have no history in the fight business. But what makes this feud interesting is the shared history between the two. In the past, Zuckerberg had publicly criticized Musk’s SpaceX program. The incident happened after the Musk-owned SpaceX rocket carrying Facebook’s satellite went up in flames, costing Zuckerberg and the company billions of dollars.
In return, the South Africa-born fighter deleted his Facebook account. Following this move with a barrage of criticism targeted towards the platform, he caused losses to the social media site. Since then, the two parties had been cold. But when Musk challenged the Harvard Alumni to a cage fight, he accepted it with an iconic quote. The fight, which almost seems agreed upon by both parties, is being discussed by many experts. The latest of them being former UFC star Josh Thompson and veteran UFC referee ‘Big’ John McCarthy.

Valentina Shevchenko beats Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, according to veteran referee
During the latest of their WEIGHING IN podcast, Josh Thompson and John McCarthy gave their take on the proposed bout between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. Amidst the talks, Thompson asked McCarthy’s opinion on a hypothetical matchup of Valentina Shevchenko or Alexa Grasso facing either of the two billionaires. To this, ‘Big’ replied that he favors the flyweight queens over the rookies. Further, he mentioned that he holds the view that despite the size disadvantage of the two female fighters. McCarthy said:
“I bet money on her, I will bet everything I have on it.”
For those unaware, Shevchenko and Grasso’s rematch is booked for September, later this year. The two veterans were giving their take on this upcoming championship bout when they came up with the hypothetical matchup. While Shevchenko fights in the 125 lb division now, her initial run at bantamweight was extremely successful. During her time there, she managed to triumph over some big names, including former champion Holly Holm and Julianna Peña. This clearly shows she can take up on bigger fighters. But fighting somebody as big as Elon Musk, who, according to some speculation, walks between 185 to 200 lb? Seems quite unlikely. Nevertheless, the said bout is unlikely to go beyond Thompson and McCarthy’s imagination.
