It was his father, Tony McGregor’s, birthday. The Irishman made sure that he tried to make his dear father happy on his special day. However, Jose Aldo also reacted to the post.

Fans shower Conor McGregor’s father with birthday wishes

The UFC superstar took to his Instagram handle to post pictures of his father, Tony McGregor. Under the post, he wrote, “Happy birthday Tony Mac.” Tony McGregor is from Liverpool. His father was in the British Navy, and hence most of his childhood was spent away from his homeland. When his parents separated, Tony McGregor migrated to Ireland in search of greener pastures. He did menial jobs to earn a livelihood for himself. It was during the struggling phase that McGregor’s father met ‘Mystic Mac’s mother, Margaret.

They soon fell in love with each other. McGregor’s parents have been together ever since. When fans came across the Irishman’s sweet birthday wish for his father, they too joined in to wish Tony McGregor. Even McGregor’s former rival Jose Aldo reacted to the post with ‘clapping’ and a hand-folded emoji.

This surprised many people, as both fighters have been adversaries in the past. They fought back in 2015 (UFC 194) which resulted in Aldo’s loss in round 1 via KO. It took ‘Mystic Mac’ just 13 seconds to dispose of his opponent.

Further, many fans left positive messages for the older McGregor.
