UFC lightweight fighter Terrance McKinney recently posted a video on his Instagram account, demonstrating a remarkable incident involving Ex MMA fighter Javier Baez. In the video, Baez can be seen successfully submitting an armed assailant using his wrestling skills. Upon closer examination of the CCTV footage, it is clear that the man charged towards Baez while carrying a machete in one hand. The ex-MMa fighter’s reflexes kicked in and he immediately slammed the man down on the pavement.
Cameras rolled as the man took the wrong man as his opponent. McKinney’s posts gathered a ton of appreciation from combat fans who emphasized the need for self-defense. Some of the comments of the fans are as follows:-

The reactions of the fans state one thing that self-defence and MMA training should not be limited by the fighters and the general populace should take the initiative to get themselves trained. Nonetheless, the incident that happened with Javier Baez even further solidified the claim of self-defense.
What transpired between Baez and the armed man?
As per Javier Baez, the armed man was screaming on the phone as well as fighting with some woman, later he tapped Baez’s car window. Baez in response called the police and threatened the armed man to leave him alone.

Baez stated “Guy was out there screaming on the phone, literally was fighting for a while with some woman,” said Baez. “He tapped on my door window. I told him to leave me alone, and then he came at me with a knife. I told him to leave me alone. I’m calling the cops. I hope he doesn’t break my window. That’s all I cared about.”
The attacker was later identified to be Omar Marrero. He was arrested by the Miami police department and now will be charged with two felonies. Baez was saved due to his expertise in combat, especially wrestling.
