Rafael dos Anjos has made his mark in the UFC like no other fighter. He began his career in 2004 and quickly rose through the ranks, earning himself a title shot against Anthony Pettis in 2015, which he won by unanimous decision and became the UFC lightweight champion. After successfully defending his title once, dos Anjos moved up to welterweight in 2016, where he faced and defeated Tarec Saffiedine in his debut.

He went on to have a successful run at welterweight, defeating the likes of Neil Magny, Robbie Lawler, and Kevin Lee. The 32-14 record holder then made a comeback to lightweight after defeating Paul Felder. However, dos Anjos returned to welterweight in his last fight against Bryan Barberena.

Recently, there have been rumors about dos Anjos‘ next fight. Terrance McKinney recently hinted at a potential matchup between dos Anjos and Arman Tsarukyan. However, the former cleared the air with a recent tweet.

In a tweet, dos Anjos wrote, “Some of LW keep calling me out. I don’t fight at LW no more, unless there’s a lot $$$$ involved. I might as well stay at WW eating well and have a longer career.”

This tweet suggests that the 38-year-old is content with fighting at welterweight and is not interested in cutting down to lightweight again unless the financial incentive is significant.
