A significant factor behind the popularity of The Joe Rogan Experience is the social commentary it provides. Host Joe Rogan consistently invites guests from several domains with whom he holds insightful conversations on a plethora of subjects. While some of those are fun conversations, others are more serious and socially relevant. In one such recent conversation, Rogan looked back at the downfall of Kanye West.
West found himself in the middle of a huge controversy and financial setbacks after a series of distasteful comments last year. The rap icon managed to get himself branded anti-Semitic, losing sponsorships and other deals in the aftermath.
Rogan has discussed the reason behind West’s downfall a few months ago on JRE. In episode #1920 of JRE, Rogan recalled the situation as he discussed Kanye West with Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.

Joe Rogan on Kanye West’s downfall
Speaking to Portnoy about West, Rogan said that West had never experienced anything like the blowback from his anti-Semitic comments. The 55-year-old listed various setbacks that Kanye West suffered after his comments sparked outrage.
He said, “Everything’s taken away from him. I mean, he had to stop construction of his house, he’s losing all of his money, all of his sponsorships. Everything’s gone. All of his connections to all these businesses, connections to banks. Everything’s gone.”
Rogan also observed how wild it was to see West’s downfall because of the heights he fell from. He said, “It’s kind of wild to see. Because we’ve never seen that before where a guy is a superstar and a billionaire. And he says some awful sh*t and everything’s taken away from him.”
Following this, he also recollected West’s meeting with former POTUS Donald Trump and his conversation during the meeting.

Rogan recalled how Kanye West accepted Trump’s invitation when many other celebrities declined to meet him. The former Fear Factor host also recollected how Trump sat back and let West do the talking as he went on a rant. Rogan said,
“Remember when he sat down and ranted with Trump?… Way back in the day with the ‘Make America Great Again.’… And Trump’s just sitting there listening to him. Kanye’s saying a bunch of wild crazy sh*t and Trump’s like ‘Hmm… Interesting.’ Trump is being like the most persuasive, the best version of Trump as a, you know, manipulator and a businessman.”
Portnoy and Rogan also discussed how Elon Musk kicked West off Twitter for continuing his anti-Semitic gestures on the platform.
