Did San Francisco's cleanup for Xi Jinping expose the state's real priorities over its own citizens?

When Joe Rogan shifted his residence from California, he said the state “went nuts.” Recently, he took issues with California’s leader, Governor Gavin Newsom, and the problem of homelessness in San Francisco. Rogan claimed that the homelessness situation is just another strategy from Newsom, which isn’t a very “healthy” practice.

Recent reports from the city’s PIT count claim that there has been a 7 percent increase in homelessness in San Francisco since 2022. The total number has risen to more than 8000 people, who are still surviving by living on the streets. Meanwhile, Rogan revealed that these people are getting paid by Gavin Newsom’s government to remain in their street camps in an extremely unsanitary environment. “Just paying people to stay on the streets, giving them money, giving them food. All I have to do is sleep in that tent… People just sh-tting on the streets. No one’s cleaning it up,” Joe Rogan stated on the recent JRE episode, featuring Michael Shellenberger.

However, the 57-year-old added that things took a total 360-degree turn when Chinese President Xi Jinping visited San Francisco late last year. The streets were cleaned up by the Newsom regime and the homeless people were prohibited from setting up camps in their usual sites. It was something that the California governor was slammed for. Rogan further stated, “When Xi Jinping came to town, everything was hosed down, everybody was moved out. They put fences up where people couldn’t camp there anymore. It was wild. And Gavin Newsome’s response that when you’re friends come over, you clean your house up… You psycho! What are you a hoarder?”

With that in mind, Joe Rogan believes that living in an unhygienic environment could prove to be fatal for the health of the homeless people, and affect the current Californian regime. “The whole thing’s nonsense. This is not good for anybody. It’s bad for the health of the people that are doing it and certainly the health of the people encountering it,” Rogan added. Meanwhile, this isn’t the only time that the JRE host has name-dropped Gavin Newsom on his podcast. In an earlier episode, Rogan predicted a huge move for the California governor, which didn’t turn out to be true.

Joe Rogan once believed Gavin Newsom would replace Joe Biden

Over two months ago, Joe Biden decided to step down from the presidential race and endorsed Kamala Harris in his place. Joe Rogan predicted that it would happen a few months prior, but he didn’t expect Harris to get the nod. Instead, the voice of the UFC believed that it would have been Gavin Newsom running for the presidential race.

Have an interesting take?

“If I had to guess, it is just speculation, I’d say it is setting up Gavin Newsom for it,” Joe Rogan said earlier this February. “I think he [Biden] just has health problems… The country understands and Newsom is going to have his support fully.” Well, that might have been a logical pick, but as it stands, it’s Kamala Harris in the running. Will she be the first female US president? That remains to be seen.
