It seems that Mark Zuckerberg has once again made the headlines in the world of MMA, but unfortunately, it might not be the headline that he had hoped for. Initially, this year, Zuckerberg became really popular when the billionaire fight between him and Elon Musk was on the table. The fight was expected to be a UFC fight, but it eventually fell through.

However, Zuckerberg found himself headlining the MMA newspapers a few months ago for a different reason. This time, it is something that he might not be too proud of. At a BJJ tournament in June, Zuckerberg might have suffered a loss at the hands of his opponent. However, the manner in which he lost is what raised a lot of eyebrows. Now, the Meta CEO’s BJJ coach Khai Wu, has broken his silence on the matter in an ES Exclusive interview.

When Mark Zuckerberg was seen training with former UFC middleweight champ Israel Adesanya and the reigning UFC featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski, people were under the impression that he would be a nightmare for Elon Musk. What is more, is that Zuckerberg had prior training in combat as he recently got promoted to blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

However, it seems that his training might have failed him at a local tournament in June, where he was ‘choked out’ by his opponent. Zuckerberg has strongly refuted all such claims but it seems the internet is not convinced. However, his BJJ coach, Khai Wu recently shared his thoughts on the matter in an ES Exclusive interview with Noah Lack.

“Oh! I mean… I think it happens. Like, in Jiu-Jitsu tournaments. Even when I was… so I used to coach out of gorilla jiu-jitsu. I had some kids that used to compete and the kids… you know, you wanna be extra cautious. So if they got their arms straightened out or like if they’re in a choke, they might stop prematurely. And I’ve even had matches where I didn’t tap but the guys stopped it early, just because it’s safe,” said Wu.

He then went on to address the incident concerning Zuckerberg. “And it’s a local tournament, so it’s like, at the end of the day, it’s not the end of the world. But obviously, you know, it sucks that it happened. But it’s like they have another match, you know, so it’s not the end of the world, you know,” said Wu, who seemed quite calm and collected about the whole situation.

The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk had all the makings of the greatest fight in recent memory. However, the chances of the fight actually taking place started to look bleak as the time drew closer. Elon Musk chose to train with UFC legend Georges St-Pierre as Zuckerberg trained with Volkanovski and Adesanya. However, he was also being trained by Khai Wu during this time.

Elon Musk, however, seemed to be unsure of the fight. He was the first one to call out Zuckerberg. But, in the end, Musk suggested a backyard fight, which made Elon Musk apprehensive about Musk’s zeal to actually be in the fight. Recently, Khai Wu said that Team Zuckerberg is ready to move on to real fights and leave this in the past since they are not sure whether Musk is actually interested in fighting.
