With UFC 308 in the rearview, we’ve got a Fight Night coming up, featuring a women’s flyweight clash between former champion Rose Namajunas, and the up-and-coming Erin Blanchfield. The latter, at 25 years old, has amassed quite an impressive record and has been on a roll in the UFC. However, Blanchfield is one of those fighters who couldn’t help but lose the zero on her record.

Erin Blanchfield lost her first MMA fight a while back, before the turn of this decade. It was in 2019 when the young Elmwood Park native was competing in the same promotion where her opponent, Rose Namajunas, used to compete before coming to the UFC – Invicta FC. Blanchfield started her career pretty well, amassing a 3-fight winning streak and even scoring a TKO win on her debut.

However, when Erin Blanchfield faced now-UFC star Tracy Cortez at Invicta FC 34, she lost a close fight via a split decision. It was heartbreaking, but the 25-year-old kept her head straight and would not lose another matchup until she arrived in the Las Vegas-based promotion.

Blanchfield’s MMA record and stats
Erin Blanchfield usually has a background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is a black belt holder. This has led her to register four of her six career finishes via submission moves. Moreover, many people in the MMA community consider her to have better chain wrestling skills than an average BJJ competitor. On the other hand, ‘Cold-Blooded’ isn’t normally known to be a striker, but she does have two knockouts to her name.

When it comes to some of the statistics, Erin Blanchfield struggles to shoot takedowns on most occasions as she has only a 33 percent success rate on UFC’s website. But she possesses great numbers when it comes to defending takedowns, which stands at an 81 percent success rate. Well, she might have to make use of all her grappling and wrestling prowess because if there’s one thing we can be sure of when it comes to Rose Namajunas is that ‘Thug’ is on a superior level of boxing.
