Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones is always brought up in the MMA G.O.A.T. conversation. Even though he is also devaluated for some things he has done in his career, his name and his accomplishments in the UFC reign supreme. ‘Bones’ has been compared to the likes of Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre, and Demetrious Johnson. One of the latest additions to that list is the former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Jon Jones posted a picture of him and Khabib Nurmagomedov, showing some interesting stats between the duo. It stated that ‘Bones’ has more UFC title fight wins than Khabib Nurmagomedov‘s wins in the octagon. Many UFC fighters commented on that post and seemingly agreed that ‘The Eagle’ is nowhere in comparison to Jon Jones’s G.O.A.T. status.

Rising UFC welterweight Khamzat Chimaev and bantamweight contender Chito Vera took Jones’s side in the G.O.A.T. discussion.

Two-time UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is the youngest UFC champion, winning the title at just the age of 23. ‘Bones’ has many records to his name in the light-heavyweight division, such as most wins, most title defenses, and the longest win streak.

Jon Jones can enhance his reputation as the UFC G.O.A.T.

In his last UFC fight, Jon Jones defeated the then-top contender Dominick Reyes via a close and polarizing unanimous decision. ‘Bones’ then vacated his title and announced a move to the heavyweight division in pursuit of the UFC heavyweight championship.

If UFC decides to set him up for a title fight against Francis Ngannou, he might have a shot at fulfilling his dream, becoming a two-division UFC champion, and firmly shutting the door on the G.O.A.T. debate. As ‘The Eagle’ is retired, he will not be able to achieve dual champion status and may have to remain content as the lightweight G.O.A.T.
