Trash-talking and insults are part of the game when it comes to selling a UFC fight. However, some instances see fighters put their animosity side to address issues that are much bigger than them. Ex-undefeated champ Khabib Nurmagomedov set an example of the same recently. Despite his rivalry with Conor McGregor and the Ireland versus Dagestan MMA debate, he supported his rival’s country when Ireland showed support for Gaza.

In a new Instagram story, the Hall of Famer was seen supporting Ireland in their support of Palestine. He shared a post by a lawyer named Khaled Beydoun who posted a picture of a sign in Ireland supporting Palestine. The law professor also added, “Dublin, Ireland stands with Gaza.” Khabib shared the same and showed his support with a simple applause emoji. ‘The Eagle’ has previously displayed his concern for the people of Gaza on several occasions.

Khabib is so dedicated to the cause that he even had a brief conversation with President-elect Donald Trump about the situation in Palestine. At UFC 302, the Hall of Famer urged Trump to do everything in his power to bring an end to this ongoing conflict. His teammate, Belal Muhammad, has also been toiling to help the situation in Gaza, and fans saw this in the UFC 304 countdown video.

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Angelina Jolie come together to support cause

Angelina Jolie is agitated just like many in the combat sports legend on the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The 49-year-old Maleficent star has been working as a humanitarian for many years since she served as the ambassador for the UNHCR for more than two decades. Even though she stepped away from that appointment, Jolie is still supporting people in these cases to raise her voice for the Palestinian people. Khabib Nurmagomedov shared her statement on his Instagram stories as a show of his own alliance to the cause.

On top of that even his teammate, Umar Nurmagomedov who will fight at UFC 311, has shown support for the cause. Umar Nurmagomedov took on Bekzat Almakhan at UFC Vegas 87 and added a win to his career in a dominant manner. However, he did not celebrate his win triumphantly but rather decided to share a message to the entire world who was watching his fight.

He told Daniel Cormier the true reason for not being extremely happy after winning, “I’m going to support and say support words for people in Gaza. They don’t have any food, they don’t have water, medical, anything they try to find some cats to eat, do, can you imagine? And I hope this world going to wake up and I think they have some minimum humanity for helping these guys.”
