This was truly a moment of joy for his people who are currently going through harrowing times. Now, the man who engineered his gameplan, UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov, has once again raised his voice for Palestine, in support of Hollywood icon Angelina Jolie.

‘The Eagle’ had previously shown his concerns about the city and the people of Gaza on numerous occasions. His teammate, Belal Muhammad, has also been working to help Gaza defectors, as fans saw in the UFC 304 Countdown video. Now, in the wake of Angelina Jolie’s social media post, Khabib Nurmagomedov echoed the same sentiment as the ‘Maleficent’ star.

Angelina Jolie earns Khabib Nurmagomedov’s support

Angelina Jolie, much like Khabib Nurmagomedov, is distraught at the loss of almost 41,000 lives in Gaza due to the Israel-Palestine conflict. The 49-year-old has been working as a humanitarian for years now, having been the ambassador for the UNHCR for over two decades. Despite stepping away from that position, Jolie is sticking her neck out in these circumstances to raise some voice for the Palestinian people. As a sign of agreement and support, Khabib Nurmagomedov shared her statement on his Instagram stories.

‘The Eagle’ has been calling for a ceasefire in Gaza for months. He even urged former US President Donald Trump to look at the matter when he cornered Islam Makhachev at UFC 302 against Dustin Poirier back in June.

Donald Trump had a brief conversation with the 29-0 legend, shaking his hand, and later described Khabib Nurmagomedov to be “smart.” And when we said ‘The Eagle’s teammates are also raising their concerns for the people who are suffering in Gaza, it also includes his protégé, Islam Makhachev, who, not too long ago, showed a moment of solidarity for the troubled region.

Khabib’s protégé refused to celebrate his UFC 294 win

After shutting down his critics with a head-kick knockout against Alexander Volkanovski, Islam Makhcahev left no doubt about who’s the better pound-for-pound fighter. The win certainly called for celebrations. But for the lightweight champion, it wasn’t the case because he was praying for the Palestinians, and dedicated his win to those people. He would also explain his decision to refrain from celebrating during the post-fight interview.

“I’m not celebrating the win today, because crazy things are happening around the world. Palestine we stand up with you. Stop this! Stop this,” said Islam Makhachev. Joining him, Belal Muhammad and Khabib Nurmagomedov was former 2-time champion Israel Adesanya, who’s also shared his prayers to the people affected in Gaza.
