The UFC just held another spectacular event in Mexico City, which featured a lot of Mexican fighters with really high potential. UFC CEO Dana White seems to have more plans in store for the country in the coming future.
The UFC recently opened a performance institute in Mexico, which will help quite a lot of fighters reach their peak through their programs. However, White revealed that the institute will not only provide a place for fighters to train but would also help the community.

During the post-fight press conference of UFC Fight Night in Mexico, the head honcho of the UFC revealed big plans for the country. Among those was an admirable commitment to help kids off the streets of Mexico and give them a fighting chance at a better life.
Talking about the performance institute in Mexico, Dana White said, “The other thing that I’m excited about with it is the work that it’s going to do in the community to bring kids in off the streets and have the opportunity to learn how to train, learn how to do jujitsu, wrestle, box, Muay Thai, nutrition, strength, and conditioning.”
White believed that the program would go on to do a lot of good things for the young people in the city of Mexico. Over the past few years, the Mexican fighters have begun to showcase their talents, even having a dominant women’s flyweight champion, in the beautiful yet vicious Alexa Grasso. Dana White and the UFC’s Decision to mold fighters in Mexico might bring in another dominant champion for the country in the future. But will there be one who fights for the title soon?
Is Brian Ortega to be next in line for the title shot?
Brian “T-City” Ortega managed to get an impressive win over the former UFC interim featherweight champion, Yair Rodriguez at UFC Fight Night: Mexico. Despite almost injuring himself during Bruce Buffer’s intron and also getting clipped badly in the first round, Ortega showed absolute grit in the second and going on to submit Rodriguez via arm triangle in the third.
During the post-fight interview, when Ortega was asked if he would like to face off against the newly crowned UFC featherweight champion, Ilia Topuria, he responded saying, “I see the Boss Dana right there, I see Hunter. We’ll talk later.”
