However, for some, the plot of it looks a bit questionable, to say the least. The film is based on the old ‘Road House’ film that came out in 1989. A legendary bouncer comes to town to protect a notoriously violent bar from the local crime boss. That’s the plot of the old film and not much has changed for the new one. So what is flawed about it? Michael Bisping has things to point out.
Michael Bisping takes apart Conor McGregor and his film’s plot
Conor McGregor and the clip of him in the ‘Road House’ trailer is going ever so viral. His acting debut looks interesting. ‘Road House’ as a film has a wide fanbase owing to its cult status. It’s the kind of film fans love watching for the kicks of it. It’s all about the action and the power-packed fight sequences.
The same goes for the new trailer as well. Jake Gyllenhaal plays a famous and rather brutal former UFC fighter, Elwood Dalton. He is summoned by the owner of a run-down bar that suffers because of the local mafia. According to Bisping, here’s what’s wrong with the plot.
“. . . they bring in this badass d0orman, Dalton, you know what I mean and he goes to war with the local Mafia right,” said Bisping in a recent conversation. “I’m not sure if when you bring in this bada** doorman, him being a world famous UFC fighter, is gonna solve the problem, do you know what I mean?”“Number one is, no one’s meant to know how much of a bada** he is. Secondly, if you’re known for being a fighter, you’re just going to attract trouble.” Clearly, Bisping has a great point and it shows how changing up a few things for the new film can make a whole lot of difference. And he can rightfully judge it too, since Bisping was the co-star of Hollywood icon Vin Diesel in the 2017 flick, XXX: Return of Xander Cage. In another pointer about the film, he also asked McGregor to focus on his “day job”.Will McGregor return at UFC 300?
Dana White has sent out a very loud and clear “no” to that question so far. White was asked in a recent press conference whether he’s in the loop with McGregor’s 29th June announcement and it looked like the UFC head honcho had no idea where ‘The Notorious’ was going with his claims.
