Mark Zuckerberg’s obsession with mixed martial arts once took him straight to the hospital. However, it seems like the Meta chairman can’t stop himself from following the sport. In a recent post uploaded online by Zuckerberg, he surprised his fans by revealing a new version of MMA, ‘Pickle MMA.’ Inspired by the latest viral sport, pickleball, the billionaire uploaded a picture of his indoor Octagon that looks inspired by a pickleball arena. He even wrote in the caption, “You’ve seen chess boxing. Say hello to pickle MMA.”

But it wasn’t just the picture of the Octagon that made all the buzz. It was also the fact that the Meta CEO had started training again after suffering a major injury. For the unaware, earlier in 2023, Zuckerberg won a gold medal and a silver medal in a Brazilian jiu-jitsu competition. Moreover, he underwent training to compete in his first MMA bout against Elon Musk in early 2024.

But unfortunately, his knee could not keep up. The millionaire tore his anterior cruciate ligament during one of his training sessions and was now recovering after the operation.

Even before he picked up his injury, it was evident that he was not at all prepared for the fight. Zuckerberg shared several videos of his training sessions where he could be seen making accelerated moments, a bad guard and takedowns that would never work in a fight.

It was true that he had earned two medals in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, but they were in his category when he was still a white belt. It is also true that he had been training with the likes of Israel Adesanya, Alexander Volkanowski, and Mikey Musumeci. However, they comprised of one-off training sessions. So even before fans got to see the match-awaited fight, Mark Zuckerberg pulled out of it. However, with this video, he surely has sparked rumors of the match coming to light again.

As soon as the fans saw the arena and Mark Zuckerberg practicing in it, they were quick to speculate that the Meta CEO would be going one-on-one against Elon Musk soon. Before his injury, the fight may have happened. However, Zuckerberg had claimed in the past that the Tesla CEO lacked seriousness and would duck the fight. So now that he is back in the Octagon, fans were quick to bring Musk into the conversation, with some calling for a match while others reminded the Meta chairman that Musk would be ducking again. Taking to the comments, they wrote, “Elon still ducking the smoke,” “Ready to race with Elon? 🔥👏” and “Zuck x Elon. 🔥”

And since he just started it, there might not be many who could go head to head with the founder. “🔥🔥🔥 Definitely the future!” “@zuck Turning pickleball into a contact sport 😂” It surely looks like Mark Zuckerberg should start writing the rulebook already.
