According to Rogan, a former FBI agent told him that out of all accounts on X., 80% of them are bots. This is substantially more than a majority and a grave concern because these bots can change narratives, especially affecting society. Rogan was stunned to know this fact and made it a point to mention it during their conversation.
Amongst other things, Rogan noted, “He estimated that 80% of all accounts on X are fake,” and adds, “Let’s say he is wrong by 30% and that is half? I mean if he is accurate, that is crazy, it means there has been a mass infiltration of foreign agents into all of the discourse about politics, gender, women’s rights, men’s rights, War Ukraine, and everything that happens in the world.”
It is safe to say that Rogan does make some coherent points. However, it bears mention that X has considered such concerns and is working to abate this issue. Moreover, it is worth noting Rogan in the past has mentioned several other concerns regarding X.
Rogan weighs in on Musk taking over X
Last year, Musk took over Twitter officially which ignited several distinct opinions. Amongst many thoughts, Rogan claimed that this move might be sabotaging X. That is because Musk was promising to promote free speech on the platform and the UFC commentator felt this may not attract advertisers.
Rogan said, “What if the advertisers decide they don’t want to use you anymore because they’re not confident of their products being advertised on a website where people have no restrictions on what they can say, which is actually happening.”
