How much credit do Rogan and Musk deserve for Trump's win? Let's hear your thoughts!

Elon Musk has now appeared five times on JRE. Episode #2223 saw the entrepreneur return to Joe Rogan’s podcast, shortly after Donald Trump’s JRE appearance, and the U.S. elections were one of the biggest talking points. But apart from that, he also spoke about his social media platform, X, which was in the news after he acquired it, and overhauled a lot of features, including the verification system and character limits. But there is more: the X TV app.

The X TV app was launched in September and has been available on the Google Play Store, Amazon App Store, and even LG’s app store. But not Apple’s. It looks like that will change soon. Musk discussed it in episode #2223 of JRE.

Rogan was fascinated by how one company could dominate a market entirely. Take, for instance, Apple’s domination over the cell phone market. But what about the video market?

Joe Rogan: “YouTube dominated the video market. That one is the most bizarre to me. Because it seems like, ‘Boy, shouldn’t there be like a ton of options?’ It seems like it’s not that difficult to pull off. But nothing ever took hold, other than X. And I think one of the big changes was when Tucker Carlson decided to do his show from X, straight out of FOX. And then people realized, ‘Oh, you can watch full videos on X, the same exact way can watch them on YouTube’.”
Elon Musk: “It’ll get better. It is now possible to watch X videos on your big TV.”
Joe Rogan: “Do you do it through, what? How do you do it?”
Elon Musk: “You can just download the X app on your TV and watch it on your TV.”
Joe Rogan: “Can you do it on Apple TV? Like if you have an Apple TV…”
Elon Musk: “So we’ll make it so that you can watch X videos on a big TV, it doesn’t have to be on your phone or your iPad or something like that.”

Joe Rogan was quite surprised to hear this. Because prior to the X TV app, users had to cast videos from IOS or Android to watch them on a bigger screen. However. the new application will enable users to browse through high-quality videos without needing their smartphones.

So what else can one do on this app? If you have used X before, it is very similar to use on the Apple TV. One can follow current trends, create and post content, and watch videos as well. Since the platform is expanding video features, Apple TV will allow users to view videos on a larger screen seamlessly.

However, hearing Elon Musk talk about Apple also reminds us of his previous beef with the company. What was that all about?

The tale of Elon Musk’s one-sided beef with Apple

While Joe Rogan may not remember this, there was a time when Musk repeatedly took digs at Apple and its CEO Tim Cook. In fact, in November 2022, he tweeted, “Apple has mostly stopped advertising on Twitter. Do they hate free speech in America?”

His tweet came out when his acquisition of X (then Twitter) was the talk of the town. Then, that same month, he also accused the $3.6 trillion-worth company of being politically biased, disagreed on censorship policies, and even asked his followers to support his fight against them.

Later he also tweeted, “Apple has also threatened to withhold Twitter from its App Store, but won’t tell us why.”

However, the first hint of the Tesla CEO’s beef with Apple dates back to 2015. Back then, he told German newspaper Handelsblatt that Apple employed Tesla’s rejects. In fact, he also shrugged off reports of Apple wanting to look into manufacturing an electric car. Over the years, he has continued to criticize the company.

Earlier this year, he criticized Apple for wanting to integrate OpenAI at the OS level and called it an “unacceptable security violation.”

Well, we wonder if Elon Musk will continue to criticize Apple in the future too. What do you think?
