Joe Rogan released the latest episode of his JRE Fight Companion podcast. Along with his guests, the 56-year-old enjoyed witnessing the UFC Fight Night event. He also shared his honest opinion about Leon Edwards. According to the JRE host, Leon Edwards is the best in the welterweight division.

The current champion has reached the top of the welterweight division despite being considered an underdog in most of his fights. But why does Joe Rogan rate him so high? Let us find out what he had to say about ‘Rocky.’

Leon Edwards successfully defended his title against Colby Covington at UFC 296. While speaking to Rogan, his guest, Brian Callen, pointed out why he feels ‘Chaos’ is a tough fighter. According to Callen, Covington broke his toe during the fight in the initial rounds. Despite suffering an injury, ‘Chaos’ went the full distance with the champion, which was quite impressive for Callen.

The JRE host also agreed to it because he feels Edwards has far better skills than most in the division. He said, “Also Leon Edwards is the best striker in the division.”

According to the UFC color commentator, ‘Rocky’ has proved why he is here to stay. His biggest strength is his ability to win clutch situations in a match. He can knock out people because of his elite conditioning and technique.

“He (Edwards) is the most technical, the most dangerous. I love watching Leon. Just the way he moves. Just the technique, the precision. Everything is just so. It’s just like what you want to see in an elite striker,” Joe Rogan said.

Edwards is all set to defend his title against Belal Muhammad at UFC 304. The fight has already garnered a lot of attention, as both fighters are evenly matched in terms of their skills.

Another fight that has caught the attention is the return of Israel Adesanya at UFC 305. ‘The Last Style Bender’ will take on Dricus Du Plessis for the title in his comeback. While most fans are excited about the clash, the JRE host isn’t quite impressed by the situation.

Joe Rogan questions Israel Adesanya’s return at UFC 305

Israel Adesanya took some time off from the Octagon after losing his title to Sean Strickland at UFC 293. He will now return to action against Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 305 and challenge for the title. Most fans, including former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub, are excited about his return.

While speaking to Rogan, Schaub said, “I like what they did with Izzy right? He’s coming off a loss and then he’s been out for what a year at least. Then they’re giving him a title shot.”

However, just like his old self, Rogan countered, “That’s true, but if that’s true, why didn’t Sean get the rematch?”. Rogan backed his claims with facts. He pointed out that ‘Tarzan’ lost his fight against Du Plessis at UFC 297, but the decision should have been in Strickland’s favor and since it was a close fight, the latter deserved a rematch.
