Eagle FC President and close aid of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Shamil Zavurov in a recent public appearance stated that a grappling match between the former UFC lightweight champion and UFC legend Georges St-Pierre is possible.
Georges St-Pierre and Khabib Nurmagomedov, alongside former UFC champions Anderson Silva and Jon Jones, are considered the greatest MMA fighters on the planet. However, fans haven’t been able to decide between any of them as the legends couldn’t be paired up against each other.

But it seems like the wait is finally over as Nurmagomedov’s close aid has teased a super grappling match between ‘Rush’ and ‘The Eagle’.
“Khabib [Nurmagomedov] is always in shape. I also follow Georges St-Pierre on Instagram and I can see he is always in shape too, always training, same for Khabib [Nurmagomedov]. When I left the sport, I started missing training sessions. I am not pushing that hard now, but Khabib [Nurmagomedov] is different,” Eagle FC President told RT Sport.

“Say when I come home he gives me a call and says, ‘come over, let’s train together!’ He has a gym in his house. He is such a big fan of the sport that he is still in great shape. He is in the United States now and he is working hard with the other guys, two times a day.” – he added.
“It would be exciting. But you’d better ask Khabib [Nurmagomedov]. We haven’t discussed it yet with him,” Zavurov concluded.
Georges St-Pierre believes neither he nor Khabib Nurmagomedov is the MMA GOAT
‘GSP’ is one of the few MMA fighters who have peaked the sport of MMA and still maintained his composure inside and outside the octagon. The Canadian MMA elite is one of the nicest guys associated with the sport. A trait that he shares with the Dagestani phenom Khabib Nurmagomedov.
We can see fans around the world debating who’s the MMA GOAT is among the duo but can’t reach a concrete answer. On one hand, there is ‘Rush’ who was a former two division champion of the UFC and has defended his title nine times.

And ‘The Eagle’ on one side has been a lightweight champion at the promotion and was undefeated in his pro career.
But leaving it to the experts, ‘GSP’ himself believes that the real MMA GOAT hasn’t even been born yet. He believes that the greatest fighter debate would always rest upon the next generation’s shoulders, as they would have the knowledge that the previous one didn’t have.
