I’d like to think that @stylebender listening to my Rock ring music whilst eating my #worldfamousrocktoast prior #ufc271 tonight was a big reason he won. It wasn’t 🤣
Helluva card and fights tonight.

Israel Adesanya had a tough time in the rematch
The middleweight king had taken the crown from ‘The Reaper‘ in their first bout at UFC 243. In their first match, he demolished Whittaker. However, in the rematch, things went differently. ‘Bobby Knuckles’ struggled in the first round, but he kept his composure. After the first round, he mixed the striking and takedown really well to make the fight competitive.
Although Adesanya had already anticipated Whittaker to follow this game plan, he didn’t think it would work against him. The judges’ scorecard suggests Adesanya won 4-1, but it looked a lot closer than that.
Whittaker in the post-fight octagon interview said that he believed that he did enough to win the fight. Looking at the fight, after the first round, every round was close, and it was entirely different from their first meeting.

Apart from Sean Strickland, there aren’t any contenders in the UFC’s middleweight division. It would be interesting to see if ‘The Killa Gorilla‘ gets the title opportunity.
