Who remembers the UFC 281 lightweight bout between two of the UFC’s greatest? Back in 2022, Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler entered the UFC Octagon and put on a show for the fans. However, there were a few questionable moments throughout the fight – from Chandler. Poirier is widely considered to be a really honorable and skilled fighter. However, Chandler’s play throughout the fight had fans saying that he fought ‘dirty’.

Now, former UFC lightweight champ Conor McGregor doesn’t take too favorably to Michael Chandler either. The two are bitter rivals, and the origin of their rivalry is TUF. McGregor, who walked away from the UFC temporarily after losing a fight to Poirier, was scheduled to fight Chandler this year upon his return. Ahead of their highly anticipated fight, an old video of Chandler dropping some illegal shots on Poirier has been going viral once again, and the fans are quite unimpressed with this.

At UFC 281, UFC fans turned up for a fight that showed a lot of promise. The lightweight bout between Michael Chandler and Dustin Poirier had all the makings of a really memorable fight. However, it turned really ugly, really soon, as Chandler adopted a few ‘underhand’ and ‘questionable’ measures in order to get the upper hand in the match.

Although Dustin Poirier emerged as the victor (winner by submission), a clipping of Chandler landing illegal shots at Poirier and not listening to the referee has been going viral once again, right ahead of his big fight against Conor McGregor. Poirier later went on to call Chandler a ‘dirty fighter’ as well.
