Veteran Dustin Poirier‘s plans for a 4-man BMF tournament seem to have garnered some serious attention. After Dana White claimed that the proposition of the tournament, which will end in just one night, “sounds fun,” Dan Hooker, who was suggested by ‘The Diamond’ as a potential participant in that tournament, issued a promising response as well.
Following his win over Mateusz Gamrot, Dan Hooker claimed that he wants to welcome all challenges – from fighting Conor McGregor to fighting for the BMF title. “I want them all, brother. I want the BMF, I want Conor McGregor, I want a title eliminator [and] I want everything,” ‘The Hangman’ said after his UFC 305 triumph. While the ‘red panty night’ may not materialize, there’s the chance now for Hooker to make his mark in the BMF title scene.
It seems that he’s pretty confident about his chances of winning the tournament proposed by Dustin Poirier as he shared a message to the former 3-time 155-pound title challenger. “Don’t threaten me with a good time,” ‘The Hangman’ tweeted recently. With Dana White signaling to like the 4-man single-night tournament, he didn’t give a definitive word on if he was considering going along with Dustin Poirier’s suggestion. For that, we’ll have to wait for more developments on this front in the days and months to come.

Given that this BMF title tournament has gripped the MMA community’s minds, some of them may not have the system of the tournament that Dustin Poirier has in mind. Let’s see what the diamond had to say about how he wants this 4-man show to go about.
What is the style of the 4-man BMF tournament proposed by Dustin Poirier?
To put it simply, ‘The Diamond’ proposed a tournament where there’d be two semi-finals among the four fighters, and if you’ve guessed already, yes, the winners of those fights will progress to one final meeting to determine the new champion. It will all happen in the span of a few hours as ‘The Diamond’ wants himself, along with the champion Max Holloway, former champion Justin Gaethje and the newest member of the 115’er’s top 5 club, Dan Hooker.

Can Dan Hooker back up his bold words and dominate the BMF tournament in one night?
Have an interesting take?
When Dana White learned about this proposition, he couldn’t believe why he never thought about such a tournament. However, Dustin Poirier claims that such a challenge “excites” him because it will truly live up to the moniker of the UFC’s BMF. “That’s a real BMF. If you can fight in a tournament in one night, multiple opponents, I mean, dude, that’s kind of the definition of a BMF,” Poirier recently stated on ‘SiriusXM’.
