Dustin Poirier is undoubtedly one of the top fighters in the promotion right now. The Louisiana native has beaten the likes of Justin Gaethje, Conor McGregor, and Dan Hooker. As of January 2022, the fighter stands eighth in the UFC men’s pound for pound rankings.
The second-ranked lightweight is coming off a recent loss to the reigning UFC lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira. As it was his second consecutive title fight defeat, many picked up on his comments from the interviews and assumed that he would move up to the welterweight division.
He recently took to Twitter to tease fans about his possible next bout.

Poirier teased the artwork and also confirmed that if the fight would happen, it would be at welterweight.
Nate Diaz has been pushing to land a fight against Poirer. The two were set to fight back at UFC 230 in November 2018. Unfortunately, the fight did not go down as ‘The Diamond’ suffered an injury and had to pull out.
As the two have been going back and forth with each other on Twitter, it is quite possible that we will see them take each other on this year.
