There are less than four weeks for yet another banger of a PPV headlined by UFC’s biggest star at the moment, Alex Pereira. But the light heavyweight champion and title contender Magomed Ankalaev are not the only featured fighters here as the co-main event has a fight that’s guaranteed to produce some action. Former UFC interim champion Dustin Poirier shared his predictions for the high-stakes lightweight clash between Dan Hooker and Justin Gaethje.

Dan Hooker, over the past few fights, has proved how violent he can get inside the Octagon, and similar to Justin Gaethje, delivers consistent entertainment to the fans. Dustin Poirier echoed that sentiment when a fan wanted to know what his “thoughts” were about their upcoming fight. Having shared the cage with both Hooker and Gaethje, ‘The Diamond’ expects an all-out brawl between them, as he seemed pretty excited for UFC 313.

“Great match up!! Can’t wait to see that! Gonna be a WAR,” Dustin Poirier wrote on X. Besides the fact a fight between Hooker and Gaethje sounds exciting, there’s a lot for both fighters to win or lose here. Firstly, ‘The Highlight’ racked up a couple of wins after his UFC 274 loss to Charles Oliveira, but his momentum got absolutely derailed after suffering a buzzer-beater knockout against Max Holloway. Secondly, Dan Hooker could be closing in on a title shot soon as he’s on a 3-fight winning streak, as he derailed Mateusz Gamrot‘s momentum at UFC 305.

Meanwhile, Dustin Poirier isn’t the only one who predicts a seriously action-packed fight in the UFC 313 co-main event. Justin Gaethje’s opponent, Dan Hooker, also seems to believe that both of them will be drawing blood on March 8. Let’s take a look at his words about the bout.

Dan Hooker provides a daunting insight into his fight against Justin Gaethje

‘The Hangman’ cannot wait to step inside the Octagon with Justin Gaethje. He predicted that the fight would be one to remember because of the shared affinity for violence between him and ‘The Highlight’. Moreover, he claims that the fact that he was picked to take on the former interim champion shows that Dana White knows their potential to deliver on the night since they’re taking on each other in a 5-round contest. However, the Kiwi fighter expressed his statements in an unusual manner.

“I think the UFC wants to see someone die… They wanna see someone go down. They wanna see blood. They wanna see rounds 4 and 5,” Dan Hooker told Ariel Helwani. On the other hand, it seems like Justin Gaethje is leaving no stone unturned because one of his training clips went viral, where she showcased a beautiful takedown on former welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman. Is he perhaps training to take Hooker down in the fight, and play to his reputation as D-1 wrestler? Well, whether or not he decides to wrestle, the fight against the Kiwi lightweight is expected to deliver fireworks.
