In a recent interview with MMA on SiriusXM, Poirier did not hold back in claiming his position as the most exciting fighter in the UFC. When asked about his place on the most exciting fighters’ shortlist, Poirier said, “F*ck all that, man. F*ck the shortlist, I am the guy!”.

Poirier went on to say that he has been putting on Fight of the Year performances long before Gaethje came into the scene. “Before Justin Gaethje was fighting in MMA, I was putting on Fight of the Years. I was headlining events in 2012 putting on Fight of the Years, I don’t even know if Gaethje was fighting then. I’ve been doing this.”

Poirier‘s response is not surprising, given his impressive record in the UFC. He has been involved in some of the most exciting fights in recent years. This includes his Fight of the Year performance against Gaethje in 2018.
