Former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier wants all the smoke, even while being in a hospital bed. Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor have one of the most iconic rivalries in the promotion. Although adding to that, we can hardly point out any fighter who hasn’t had a beef with the ‘Notorious’, from Cowboy Cerrone to Khabib Nurmagomedov. Nevertheless, both Poirier and McGregor have fought thrice inside the Octagon already and still can’t squash the beef. Recently, the lightweight duo was exchanging blows over Twitter when Nate Diaz dived in.

Furthermore, Nate Diaz is also a well-known rival of ‘The Notorious‘ with both the fighters standing victorious over each other once inside the Octagon. The fans long demanded a trilogy fight, but it never came to fruition. Perhaps that’s why it came as no surprise when ‘Stockton Slugger’ jumped in between.

LAS VEGAS, NV – AUGUST 19: UFC President Dana White (C) separates mixed martial artist Nate Diaz (L) and UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor (R) as they face off during their weigh-in for UFC 202 at MGM Grand Conference Center on August 19, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada. ‘Mystic Mac’ has not featured inside the Octagon since his loss to ‘El Diamante‘ at UFC 264, back in July 2021. Moreover, Dustin Poirier is recovering from a savage fight against Michael Chandler. With both the fighters looking for an opponent and animosity still there, a match-up looked all but set.
Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz still have unfinished business
Nate Diaz was going to face ‘El Diamante’ at UFC 230, back in 2018. Although the match didn’t go through when the Louisiana-based fighter had to pull out of the fight due to injury. In addition, Poirier also revealed later that there were issues during the negotiations leading up to the fight. So a comeback fight with the ‘Stockton Slugger’ makes perfect sense.
The Duo once more clashed, this time over Twitter when the ‘Stockton Slugger’ pointed out that both McGregor and Dustin had been knocked out several times. Moreover, Poirier replied, “Come back for 1 fight and I’ll beat the sh*t outta you bruh.”
