Jacoby truly knows how to be committed because he and his wife have been married for almost 11 years. A lot of information is not known about how the couple met or where they met. However, the duo got engaged in 2012 and married in 2013. It has been more than a decade and they are still going strong. His wife Kahla is a former Figure competition winner. However, she changed her career path and is a Lead Cause Entrepreneur at ONEHOPE Wine and an associate financial representative at Northwestern Mutual now.
Jacoby even wished her on their anniversary with a carousel of adorable throwback pictures from their wedding day. He captioned the post, saying, “From the time you are born, until the time you are eligible for a driver’s license, that’s how long Kahla and I have been together. Today, we have been married for 11 of those years! That might not mean much to you, but it does to me! Happy Anniversary my love!”

They have a happy family together and the duo has not added a third member yet. As of 2024, there is no information about them having a child but they do have an adorable pet dog named Dak who is 7 now! Jacoby shared a picture of their dog on Instagram on Dak’s birthday. So the trio makes a small and happy family.

Jacoby aka ‘The Hanyak’ was born on April 4, 1988, in Fort Morgan Colorado, and has a twin brother, Darren Jacoby. The Light Heavyweight phenom has garnered a remarkable 19 wins till now with 12 victories by KO. His twin brother Darren is also a former professional MMA fighter. The brothers had started training in taekwondo at the tender age of 4 and Dustin had trained in taekwondo for 4 years until the family moved to Illinois.
There, he took an interest in football and also got an all-state honors while attending Triopia High School. Jacoby was a multi-sport athlete at Triopia and was recognized for his achievements as a quarterback. He was named Honorary Captain of The State Journal-Register All-Area Football Team in 2005. After high school he went on to play football at Culver-Stockton College in 2008 and Quincy University in 2009. Unfortunately, a knee injury during his senior year made him lose many of the offers.
This is where his story with MMA began. He mentioned his journey to UFC and said, “I began training full-time in June of 2010. My twin brother started fighting before me and I followed suit.” Jacoby’s positive outlook towards life is a given because of the people around him. He mentioned his ‘heroes’ in the same interview and included his family and friends in the category. The Business Management Major has always loved fighting and never had any other job. He holds four amateur titles and went 9-1 before going professional.

He spoke about the ups and downs in his professional career and told UFC about how he always likes to ‘keep swinging’. ‘The Hanyak’ said, “It’s the only attitude you can have. I’ve been counted out so many times throughout my career, and so many different times I had people telling me to walk away or to find something else to do.” Nevertheless, Jacoby has kept striving and mentioned how every time something good follows the bad. Jacoby added, “I tell guys all the time, ‘Keep swinging, man. Never give up.’ You just got to keep swinging. Keep putting yourself in positions to succeed. That’s what I do over and over again. It’s called opportunity and I love seeking it and I love taking advantage of it.”
