Colby Covington, the former interim welterweight champion, is infamous for having a beef with most of his fellow UFC fighters. Recently, the California native is landing shots at his former teammate Dustin Poirier.

The former lightweight interim champion lost his second title shot against the Brazilian Charles Oliveira. Ever since then, many fans are speculating about what is next for him in the promotion. Meanwhile, ‘Chaos’ is interested in brushing his shoulder against ‘The Diamond’ inside the UFC octagon.

‘Chaos’ has been calling him out ever since Poirier lost in the main event of UFC 269. However, the latter has yet to respond to the welterweight fighter. Recently, in an interview with The Schmo. ‘Chaos’ explained his beef with the lightweight fighter and also accused him of being an egoistic person.

He said, “Dustin is the biggest egomaniac in the entire world. I don’t care what anybody says. Anybody that’s trained with him been with him day in and day out like I have for years on the end would know how he truly is.”

“So you know we were supposed to have a training camp together. And then I was fighting Robbie Lawler. A guy that was at another team and he just fucking turned his back on me. Started talking, s**t wouldn’t train with me.”

“Like just having a sorry attitude, give me bad looks in the gym. And then for the Khabib fight, they didn’t use me because he was already talking shit that fight and I just gave an honest opinion. I said, hey man you can’t stuff a nose bleed, you’re not gonna stop Khabib’s takedown. And he took it personal.”

The ‘Chaos‘ and ‘The Diamond’ both compete in different weight classes in UFC. However, the Californian trash-talking Poirier for a while now. Also, he demanded the Louisiana native to put on some weight and fight him at 170lbs.

Interestingly, after a second failed attempt to conquer the lightweight gold, ‘The Diamond’ might opt to move a weight class further. However, he isn’t interested in fighting Covington. Instead, the lightweight fighter wants to clash against the Stockton slugger Nate Diaz.

Recently, the pair has been going back and forth against each other on social media. Also, both the combatants might have agreed to fight next month, according to the reports.

‘The Diamond’ has fought thrice this year and has lost only once. However, he will take a break from fighting after a busy year, as said in the post-fight interview. Until then, the fans will have to wait to see what UFC does next with him.
