Is Nick Diaz's giveaway a distraction from his personal struggles, or a genuine gesture to fans?

Nick Diaz found himself in deep trouble when a video of him messing around with fire in the neighborhood went viral on the internet. However, when his girlfriend, Kay, took to social media and hinted at the Stockton native’s issues with d-ug addiction, the whispers turned into accusations. This was probably the reason why his fight against Vicente Luque at UFC 310 was canceled. On the other hand, the former Strikeforce welterweight champion continued to strive on social media with a giveaway.

Taking to Instagram, Diaz shared a picture of himself. In the caption, he wrote, “Cold plunge giveaway! Excited to announce that I am teaming up with @sunhomesaunas to give a lucky winner the same cold plunge that I have at home. The cold plunge has been a vital part of my workout recovery routine and has helped reduce pain and inflammation and I can’t wait to get one of these to our winner!”

He further pointed out how to participate in the giveaway. And Sun Home Saunas’ account would contact the winner. Needless to say, this was something that the fighting community didn’t really expect from Diaz. But given his shirtless video making the fighting realm wonder about his well-being, the giveaway post attracted quite some worried fans into the discussion.

One of the fans believed that the giveaway was something that Diaz needed for his alleged dr-g addiction. The comment read, “Doing giveaways but not training, dude needs money to feed his addiction.” It was indeed written about what the UFC title challenger’s girlfriend had to post on her IG story, which pointed at ‘Diablo’ having troubles with dr-g addiction.

Nevertheless, most of the fans expressed their worries in the comments. One fan wrote, “Man, as an actual fan I really hope you’re doing okay.” Some of the fans wanted Diaz to lead a better life outside the Octagon. One fan wrote, “Hope you’re doing good nick. As much as we miss you in the octagon or ring, we want to see you doing better in life.” Meanwhile, another fan commented, “Us real fans care about you outside of fighting.. hope you’re doing okay man.” A few others went ahead and asked the MMA star to seek help. A comment reflected on this and read, “I hope you’re doing ok Nick, please talk to anybody.” Another fan wrote, “We love you nick please get the help you need.”

A few others targeted Diaz’s shirtless video and asked him to talk about the viral video that showed him shirtless in the neighborhood. One fan commented, “Why was you shirtless on the street, burning down bushes.” Meanwhile, another fan said, “Nick we all seen you on the street please respond to it.” Not too long ago, ‘Diablo’ revealed that he had been on a drinking spree. Of course, it wasn’t something that he was proud of. He said, “I’ve been drinking like that because, f-, I can’t get away from her… I’m just stuck and I’ve got to go deal with people, too, and her. So I can’t stand her when I’m sober around people and I’m like, freaking out.”

Nevertheless, some of the fans expressed their desire to see Diaz in the MMA cage once again. After all, pulling out of UFC 310 was nothing but a shocker. One fan claimed, “Can’t wait for you to fight again bruv.” Another fan wrote, “i hope we see you in the octagon.”
