Jon Jones has been out of action for a long time, but it seems like he might come back against Stipe Miocic if all goes well. On the other hand, Tom Aspinall just won against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304 and called out ‘Bones’. However, Dana White announced that before Aspinall, Miocic deserved to fight the champion.
Jones also recently came onto social media and gave an update on his fight training for the upcoming bout. He wrote, “I’m sitting here getting ready to order my first elbow pads. It’s funny all these years I’ve never trained with elbow pads. I just practiced elbows on the mitts and heavy bag. I never actually throw elbows when I’m sparring, yet somehow the right timing seems to come naturally on fight night. Do you guys have any good recommendations? Looking for something with some good thickness on the elbow bone.”
On top of that, the heavyweight champion only had one loss, which came from the 12-6 elbow ban. However, now that this ban has been lifted, the disqualification loss against Matt Hamill can also be eradicated from the fighter’s record. So even if he wants to use an attack through his elbow, he will not be disqualified for his future fights.

Fans comment on the new method used by Jon Jones
That is hardly any fighter that can dominate ‘Bones’, but even the best of the best go through some other defeat. The Heavyweight Champion had lost just once against Matt Hamill in 2009 because of disqualification. He had given a 12-6 elbow strike, which had caused the judges and officials to disqualify him because it was not legal at that time. Now that it is legal, the fighter might be getting ready to practice more elbow strikes. In the meantime, the fans commented on his next fight and opponents.
One follower stated, “Dude is knocking out Stipe or Aspinall with elbows,” while another said, “Getting ready to fight Tom Aspinall?!” While ‘Bones’ is prepared with elbow pads, Tom Aspinall is seen going the classic way like the Irish travelers. He was soaking his hands in diesel during the crack of dawn to make his knuckles harder. However, the fans think that Jones might still defeat his opponent. One fan commented, “Damn, you were destroying guys with moves you didn’t even practice in sparring? You truly are a one-in-a-lifetime talent.”

On the other hand, another fan said, “Welp, we know how Stipe is getting finished.” Fans were expecting him to come back at UFC 307 in October. Dana White just announced that champion Alex Pereira will fight Khalil Rountree, which has disappointed the fans. But the comments under this post suggest that they are still hopeful for a fight against Pereira. On that note, another follower said, “Let’s go, Jones! Stipe, then aspinal, and set up the biggest fight in UFC history. Poaton vs. Jones.”
One netizen said, “Dude is knocking out Stipe or Aspinall with elbows. And you can’t stop him,” while another stated, “NGL Jones is getting serious now.” Truly, it seems like he is indeed getting serious. What do you think is going to happen in his next fight?
