“I love a beer. Think it’s the best thing in the world,” Du Plessis told Fox Sports ahead of his clash against Sean Strickland at UFC 312. The undisputed middleweight champion emphasized that he would celebrate his victory against Strickland by chugging many beers. After all, this fight did take place in Australia, right? And it appears that’s exactly what ‘Stillknocks’ did, as his celebratory video has been making rounds on the internet. However, our beer-chugging undisputed middleweight champion might have experienced a defeat despite winning his UFC 312 championship bout.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Dricus Du Plessis uploaded a video in collaboration with Jackson O’Doherty where the influencer challenged the middleweight champion to a beer-chugging contest. Du Plessis agreed to the proposition but as soon as he started drinking his beer with his eyes closed, O’Doherty poured all of the beer inside down his shirt, thus winning the chugging contest.
It looks like apart from fighting, the South African champ really likes chugging beers, especially after hard-fought battles. “I was the fastest [drinker] of all my friends, which is why it’s become something like my party trick,” said ‘StillKnocks’ in a conversation with the media. The middleweight champion claimed he can chug an entire glass of beer in a matter of three seconds and his alcohol tolerance is godly.

“I do enjoy life, that’s why I drink beer… I’m amazing at drinking beer. If I were to go to a restaurant and I’m not in a fight camp, I would sit and order myself beer… I’m 31 years old, I don’t get blackout drunk anymore… I get drunk but I don’t get blackout drunk because I’m probably going home,” said Du Plessis about his alcohol tolerance while having a conversation with Nina Marie Danielle.
After his five-round war with Sean Strickland, Dricus Du Plessis had all the reason to celebrate, and being in Australia, it only made sense for him to celebrate his win by chugging his favorite beverage. And how did fans react to the champion’s celebrations after the fight? Well, they had an absolute ball in the comments section.
