Combat fans are in for a treat as the upcoming year is packed with fights that could potentially break internet servers. Next year’s UFC PPV events start with the highly anticipated title bout between Dricus Du Plessis and Sean Strickland. Leon Edwards is set to headline the upcoming UFC 296 event against Colby Covington. The welterweight champion will make his second title defense against the former interim champion at the final PPV of the year in Las Vegas. While Covington is by no means an easy challenge, Edwards is already planning past ‘Chaos.’

Recently, while having an interview session with Sky Sports, Edwards was asked about his aspiration after defending his title. ‘Rocky’ stated, “I’m big myself… I feel like that would be perfect. I feel like me going out there being double champ, first-ever from the UK to do it. That’s definitely one of my goals, so that’s on the cards for sure.”

Edwards, in his demeanor, challenged the prospective winner of Sean Strickland vs. Dricus Du Plessis to a fight at UFC 300. Edward’s words might have been brave, but it is not easy to get ahead in the middleweight division. Du Plessis’ eyes caught Edward’s challenge and the fighter took to Instagram to state his response via a story.
