Dricus Du Plessis has had a storyline to settle with Israel Adesanya. Adesanya walked up to Dricus Du Plessis after he knocked out Robert Whittaker. The two faced-off and Adesanya was loud and clear when he tried to humiliate the South African fighter.
“I don’t need a DNA test to know where I’m from.” Adesanya said to Du Plessis cutting him off after Joe Rogan asked him a question. “I will show you where you’re from. It’s an easy fight. It’s easy money. I said I was going to have this moment.”
Apart from that, Khamzat Chimaev who has recently moved to the middleweight class also has Du Plessis’s name on his list. Now that ‘Stillknocks’ is the champion, everyone wants a piece of him. ‘Borz’ sent out a warning from his X account saying that he’ll see Du Plessis at UFC 300. Now Dana White has an update.
White was asked about the status of Du Plessis’s first title defense to which he said. “We’ll figure this out Tuesday, we’ll probably announce it next week. . . we’ll find out next week.” Looks like White is a bit consumed with the aftermath of the current event. Once his schedule clears up, perhaps we can expect a new title fight soon too.

If Du Plessis could pick a fighter to take down, perhaps he’d enjoy going up against Israel Adesanya the most. The storyline they started is still incomplete and will remain so until they battle it out for the championship title inside the cage. And so, Du Plessis called out Adesanya quickly.
