It is safe to say that Dricus Du Plessis keeps every receipt intact. Whether it’s about making someone pay inside the Octagon or just with his verbal jabs, the South African never misses a chance. Remember his tirade against Steve Erceg when the 125fer rated the middleweight champion 6/10 ahead of their respective bouts at UFC 305. In an ironic turn of events, Du Plessis went on to submit Israel Adesanya as the headliner while Erceg fell victim to a vicious KO against Kai Kara France. ‘Stillknocks’ wasted no time and posted a snippet from the bout on his Instagram story and said, “6 outa 10 @steveerceg 🤣🤣”
Or what about the time when the South African verbally destroyed two emphatic speakers on the mic: Sean Strickland and the aforementioned Adesanya? The man literally made his opponents cry! Talk about being a trash talker. And it seems that Du Plessis’s latest victim is surging 185fer Shara Magomedov. ‘Bullet’ recently fell victim to Michael ‘Venom’ Page with his undefeated streak ending at UFC Saudi Arabia. Instead of sulking or blaming others for his performance, the one-eyed Dagestani took full responsibility for the outcome.
During a conversation with Kamil Gadzhiev, Magomedov revealed the reason behind his defeat. He admitted, “I’ve lost my predator instincts. I know what I used to be at the beginning and what I have become now and I know I have to rebuild a lot of things to get back on my track. I took a lot of fights. I’ve had four fights within seven months. I took a loan from my health and failed to pay it off. So I neither properly prepared for the fight nor fixed my health issues, which got even worse. And also, as you said, underestimated him.”

Du Plessis wasn’t one to let that slide. Sharing his thoughts on Instagram via Red Corner MMA, he fired back with a sharp retort: “Hope you have a great sense of smell and hearing if you plan on being a predator, brother.” But why did Du Plessis lambast the Dagestani? The South African juggernaut has recently taken a particular interest in Magomedov, especially after the one-eyed 185fer questioned his fighting style and how he used to bet against the reigning champion.
“I always thought that his [Du Plessis’] opponent would win all the fights in the UFC. Du Plessis, for the last five fights, I always bet on his opponent. But he will somehow win. I am constantly surprised by this and somehow. I don’t know, somehow he manages to do that there in the fight. Somehow he will find something there. Somehow it will work out… Of course, Chimaev seems like he should win… but in reality, Du Plessis is like that.”

Seems like a bad idea and not wise to poke the bear. And Du Plessis made sure that ‘Bullet’ paid for his remarks a few days back. Taking to his X account, Du Plessis didn’t hold back as he mocked the one-eyed fighter’s vision, posting, “Somebody get my guy some eye drops.” If that jab wasn’t harsh enough, fans didn’t have to wait long for his other post on Instagram which took things up another notch. “My man you got one eye on the ceiling and the other at the TV, you not seeing the same DDP as the rest of us. Guys are out here losing fights, nowhere near contending and talking smack.”
It’s clear that Du Plessis isn’t ready to put an end to his war of words with Magomedov anytime soon. And it seems that even Khamzat Chimaev isn’t safe.

Dricus Du Plessis takes a shot at Khamzat Chimaev with his latest tweet
Tensions in the UFC middleweight division are heating up as Dricus Du Plessis prepares for his highly anticipated clash with Khamzat Chimaev. Fresh off a dominant performance against Sean Strickland in their rematch at UFC 312, the champion openly embraced ‘Borz’ as his next challenge. Since the fight announcement, fans and experts have been picking sides, debating who will come out on top. Meanwhile, Magomedov has made his stance clear—he’s rooting for Chimaev to wear the middleweight crown, claiming he knows the loopholes in Du Plessis’ game.
Never one to back down, Du Plessis decided to stir the pot with a cleverly crafted dig aimed at both Magomedov and Chimaev. Taking to social media, he tweeted: “Between Khamzat and Shara there are only 3 senses—touch, smell, and sound.”

If that tweet left you scratching your head, here’s the breakdown: The human body has five senses, but Du Plessis’ jab is based on two notable exceptions. Magomedov’s well-documented vision issues make the omission of sight a clear shot at the Dagestani fighter. Additionally, Khamzat Chimaev lost his sense of taste after contracting COVID-19, adding another layer of cleverness to the post.
Love it or hate it, you have to admit—that was a brilliantly calculated dig from the South African champ. What do you think about the ongoing social media battle? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!
