With Dvalishvili's latest win, is O'Malley overrated or just outmatched?

UFC 306 was definitely a first for the promotion when it comes to delivering an experience of this magnitude. After months of promoting the event, the event surely lived up to the hype. As the Las Vegas Sphere mesmerized everyone in attendance with its high-tech screens and the amazing projection of graphics.

As soon as the show began, fans and other MMA fighters began to share their positive reactions to the event. Former UFC fighter turned commentator Alan Jouban even compared the entire visual spectacle to something out of a video game. And now, although a few days late, Israel Adesanya has dropped his verdict on what he thought of UFC Noche, as well as the main event of the night.

In the latest video on his FREESTYLEBENDER YouTube channel, Adesanya could be seen watching the big event from his couch as he cheers on for Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O’Malley during their fight. And once it ends, he couldn’t help but praise The Machine for the win as he said, “Dreams come true, yeah, that’s—dreams come true, man, no matter what. That’s dreams come true.” He also added in the video how Dvalishvili was pretty much flawless in the fight.

However, the praise wasn’t just reserved for the Georgian. The Stylebender revealed his regret for not getting to attend the event. Something that surely would’ve been a once-in-a-lifetime experience for him. He said, “From the couch, I could see how, if you were in the sphere, it would be even 100 times better. Yeah, I definitely wish I was there if I could have. This is a one-off; it’s one of those things that will probably never happen again, but if I could have been there, I would have been there.”

Well, from the looks of it, it surely seemed like Adesanya really regretted not going to the event. Maybe he really missed being part of the action as well. Since he has been away from the Octagon after his defeat against reigning middleweight king Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 305. So what’s next for the Stylebender?

Who will Israel Adesanya fight next?

Back at UFC 305, Adesanya surely looked strong in the first half of the fight. However, things only went downhill in the latter half. The unstoppable Du Plessis refused to fall down to his strikes. The South African stood like a tank that absorbed all the beating of Adesanya. Then, before you knew it, Du Plessis finally took him down and gave the Stylebender his first loss through submission.

And now, Adesanya can try his hands at either the 185 or 205-pound category if he wishes to get into the title picture. So a matchup can be booked between him and the winner of Khamzat Chimaev vs. Robert Whittaker. A match with Jamahal Hill also seems probable. However, for now, the Stylebender has not revealed what plans he has in mind for his MMA career ahead. What do you think? Who should he fight next? Let us know in the comments.
