Referring to some of the iconic title challengers in UFC history, DC brought up the tale of Alexa Grasso, the flyweight who beat Valentina Shevchenko – the former UFC flyweight champ in a historic turnaround. Referring to such refreshes in UFC’s divisions, DC furthered his statement by asking Yair, “How sure are you that you can get the job done this weekend?”
‘El Pantera’ confidently retorted, “[I’m] 100 percent sure that I can get it on. Why, if he can do it – I can’t? Why if you could do it… or Brandon[Moreno] or Alexa – yeah, why can’t I?”
Clearly, the Mexican has some lofty role models who keep him motivated throughout his arduous training. UFC stars like Grasso and Brandon Moreno have proven their mettle in the flyweight division. ‘The Assassin Baby’ has been a huge motivation in Yair’s quest for featherweight glory, and he truly admires the Mexican 2-time flyweight champ.
What’s more – the interim champ, oozing with confidence, told ‘DC’ that he has total faith in himself and his abilities. After his rival ‘Volk’ spoke with numerous journalists to clear his stance on Yair, this response was inbound sooner or later.
