In a battle of bitter rivals, Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya are set to meet once again in the UFC octagon for a much-anticipated rematch. This marks the fourth encounter between the two, who have a long history of competing against each other in kickboxing as well. So far, the ‘Poatan’ has emerged victorious in all of their previous encounters against ‘The Last Stylebender’. Now, with the middleweight title on the line, Pereira is all set to defend his belt against Adesanya at UFC 287.

Prior to the fight, the Brazilian had some words of advice for Canadian rapper Drake to be a little more thoughtful about his betting choices this time around. However, UFC fans are warning the reigning middleweight champion against taking any betting advice from Drake, as doing so could leave him vulnerable to the infamous ‘Drake curse’ among netizens.

Drake’s past betting history on UFC fights has led to speculations that his influence brings bad luck to those he supports. The 36-year-old rapper wagered on Israel Adesanya at UFC 281 and dropped a staggering $2 million CAD from his total net worth. Hence, this time around, ‘Poatan’ wants Drake to be more considerate and place his bet on the ‘right person’, as he stated in his latest Instagram post.

Pereira wrote, “@champagnepapi – I hope this time you bet on the right person”.

Check out how the fans reacted to this post:

“Nah trust me you don’t want him to bet on you”

“No no no do not get involved with drake it’s not gonna do you any good”

“TALK YOUR SH*T POATAN”

“Bro the last thing you want is Drake putting money on you srsly.”

“ALEX NO”

“Don’t put that curse on yourself”

“No bro stay away from Drake as far as you can.”

“Drake please bet Izzy. We need Alex to win here”

Alex Pereira is going above and beyond to guarantee that his upcoming fourth encounter with Israel Adesanya at UFC 287 ends with the same result as the previous three. The Brazilian fighter recently posted a video of himself mercilessly pummeling his sparring partner with a barrage of vicious strikes; demonstrating how his training camp has been progressing for the much-anticipated fight.

The caption of the post read: ” [Star Emoji] 22/07/1989 [Coffin Emoji] 08/04/2023″ with the date of Adesanya‘s birth followed by the date of their rematch in the UFC and a coffin emoji, hinting at the metaphorical end of the New Zealander on that day. The fight is set to take place at the Miami Dade Arena, marking the UFC’s return to Miami after a 20-year absence. And it is going to be a war, to say the least.
