Khabib Nurmagomedov got inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame during the International Fight Week. ‘The Eagle‘ gave a graceful speech while receiving the honor. The undefeated fighter, 29-0, addressed people around the world and began his speech by advising them to avoid one mistake in life.

After going 13-0 in the UFC, Nurmagomedov took early retirement from the sport (after beating Justin Gaethje at UFC 254). Yet, he had done enough in his brief career to feature in the modern wing of the UFC Hall of Fame 2022. His candid nature and outspoken personality made him a fan favorite outside the octagon. Meanwhile, his dominance within the cage was evident to impact the fight fans.

Starting his speech by thanking the almighty, the Dagestan-born athlete said, “Lot of people underestimate one things when they become famous… They all beginning to talk about ‘you know this is because of my mindset; this is because of I work hard… that’s why I become like very successful.’ You know, for example, they all talk about this.”

“But what about others, millions and millions people around the world who work so hard but they don’t have this position, what I have. It’s mean, this is test from Allah… He give you this. He wanna test you, how you handle this, you know. And don’t make this mistake, guys. Everything comes from God, you know. Thank you,” concluded the former UFC lightweight champion.

Nurmagomedov also talked about his humble beginning and the sacrifices of his father to make him a UFC athlete, champion, and a Hall of Famer.

Daniel Cormier edged Khabib Nurmagomedov in UFC Hall of Fame race

Since ‘The Eagle‘ was the last to get inducted into the Hall of Fame for this year’s event, it made Daniel Cormier the first AKA athlete to represent this prestigious class.

The undefeated mixed martial artist wanted to be the headliner for the Hall of Fame ceremony. Thus, the former UFC dual champ & Nurmagomedov’s longtime teammate accepted his request. However, this meant Daniel Cormier would go onto the stage to get his honor before ‘The Eagle’. Thus, ‘DC‘ became the first athlete from the remarkable AKA gym, which produced multiple UFC champions, to get into the UFC Hall of Fame.

Nurmagomedov ended the night with a wonderful speech, where he also took a dig at his fellow Hall of Famer, Daniel Cormier. This was because the UFC commentator delivered his speech with a little help from his notes.
