Khamzat Chimaev and Alex Pereira may be separated by weight divisions, but they have certainly tangled in the past. The ‘Borz’ has called out the middleweight champ on several occasions, but despite their verbal sparring, nothing has come to fruition.

Recently, the undefeated Swede fighter made a bold comment regarding the highly anticipated bout between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman 3, which recently concluded with ‘Rocky’ successfully acing his first title defence against ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’. Chimaev commented that he would get that welterweight belt from these ‘clowns'[as he referred Edwards & Usman by], causing a stir among fight fans.

And now, ‘Poatan’ has reacted to Chimaev’s statement, making a rather scathing remark about the 28-year-old’s bravado. However, the UFC world thinks that this move by the Brazilian is not a wise one and that he should perhaps steer clear of the ‘Borz’ for his own good.

Alex Pereira recently took to Twitter in order to reflect his thoughts on Khamzat Chimaev‘s bold claims on winning the welterweight title next. The ‘Poatan’ finds the Swede fighter to be rather delusional and that he isn’t sure of where to head from here.

The 35-year-old Pereira wrote, “Seems like this guy is in a labyrinth and doesn’t know where to go…”

Recently, UFC president Dana White opened up about Khamzat Chimaev‘s next fight, stating that the undefeated ‘Borz’ deserves a middleweight fight against the best of the best.

The promotional frontman said, “Yeah, he will fight at middleweight, yeah.” He continued “And yes, I mean, he’s in a position where he should be fighting, you know, top 3 guys in the world.”

This leaves the ground open for a potential clash between Chimaev and Pereira, which could potentially be one of the biggest and most exciting fights for MMA enthusiasts.
