UFC superstar Conor McGregor is back on Twitter and ranting yet again. After lying low for a while, McGregor has found a new fighter to lash out at. But instead of targeting a peer amongst his weight class, the Irishman has interestingly gone behind a particular heavyweight in the form of Tom Aspinall. And for fans wondering why he’d even think about doing that? Well Aspinall, in a recent interview, downplayed McGregor’s upcoming return to the TUF house against Michael Chandler. And the 34-year-old clearly seemed to have not taken it well. In a couple of now-deleted tweets, he lashed out at the Englishman, threatening to starve him and, surprisingly, even kill him. Despite all of these, Aspinall appeared to have taken it light-heartedly, as was evident from one of his posts following the tweets from McGregor.

The Irishman is set to appear in the upcoming season of TUF opposite Michael Chandler. And although there has been no confirmation of a fight, the duo is expected to clash later this year, eventually.

McGregor is quite infamous for his repeated attempts at thrashing others on Twitter and then getting it deleted. But leading up to his TUF stint, he had managed to stay away from that for a while. Now, after Aspinall’s recent interview where he expressed disinterest in the former double champ’s return, McGregor seemed to have found another reason to get back to his old habits. In a now-deleted tweet, he had called the heavyweight a ‘mush head’ and asked him to keep his opinions to himself.

“Mush head rat keep your comments to yourself,” read his deleted tweet.

He then followed it up with a threat having more serious repercussions.

The post read: “Bum prick. Say sayonara to that gk deal kid. Starve you and kill you i will you  f******g disrespectful prick. Don’t ever speak my name in disrespect again. Mush potato head.”

Well, for anyone even slightly aware of the 34-year-old’s affinity with cussing, they’d know how creative McGregor could get with his insults.

Funnily, in response, Aspinall posted an extremely hilarious tweet of his name edited out on a phonebook.

There’s no denying that the Englishman does have a pretty good sense of humor.

Aspinall’s recent statement on McGregor incited the Irishman to respond

Aspinall, who last fought in July 2022, disclosed how he felt about McGregor’s return to the MMA scene after a long layoff. Speaking to Jamal Niaz on his YouTube channel, he downplayed ‘The Notorious’ and his possible fight against Chandler. While doing so, he considered a few other fights to be more important than the former double champ’s return bout.

“Honestly, I’m not that interested in it. I’ll still watch it but I’m kinda over McGregor. For me, there’s way more exciting fights out there than that. The heavyweight fight coming up that I’m super invested in, the London card, Leon Edwards. … Will I watch it? Yeah, but if it gets canceled, I won’t be upset about it,” expressed Aspinall.

Ultimately, this could be a sentiment many others feel as well. Since McGregor hasn’t had a win since early 2020, some MMA fans are of the idea that this fight should not have any weight on the title contenders in the 155-pound division.
