UFC welterweight Nate Diaz took to social media and sparked off a verbal exchange with Dustin Poirier that might very well lead to a fight. Both men were scheduled to fight each other at UFC 230 in Madison Square Garden, but the booking fell apart. Since then, fans have been calling for both men to engage in a fight and it finally might materialize.

With the pay-per-view season done and dusted for the UFC, it’s all but certain that a December booking won’t come to fruition.

While some fans believe all this talk is nothing more than banter, MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani provided some insight on the matter. He went on to say that Poirier vs Diaz could truly come together if both parties wanted it.
