He said that he had met the undefeated champ at UFC 302 and claimed that ‘The Eagle’ was his favorite guy. He said, “I thought he (Khabib Nurmagomedov) was great and we got to speak. He was just about my favorite guy and talented.” He stated the real reason he liked Khabib and said, “Khabib is I guess 29, 29 or 28-0, and then his father died and he sat but I think he never lost, I don’t think he never lost a round. Like he fought many times but he never lost like a round. I thought it was great; I got to meet him at a fight.”
Khabib was at the corner team for Islam Makhachev, at UFC 302 and there he met Trump. He retired from UFC in 2020 after his father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov passed away. Since then he has been coaching the Dagestani team at AKA.

Donald Trump revealed what was shared between him and the champion
The Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey was ablaze with cheer and applause as the former president had stepped into the arena to see what happened inside the octagon. He was being escorted by Dana White towards the cage side seats. On the way, he met many eminent fighters and veterans and one of them was ‘The Eagle’.
He appeared on the ‘Impaulsive’ podcast episode no. 418, and said, “I met Khabib, who’s 29-0 and his father died and he just said, that’s it for me. And you know, his father was great at what he did and probably he never lost even a round I think, he’s 29-0, they say he never lost a round. And I thought he was great and we got to speak he was just about my favorite guy and really talented.”

He was correct in stating that Khabib was undefeated. However, the champion did lose in two rounds during his career. The first was against Conor McGregor during UFC 299. The second was during his last fight against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. There was also a serious conversation of what was going on in Palestine and Trump said how Khabib told him that the war needed to stop. All in all the former president surely likes the Hall of Famer both as a fighter and as a person.
