Earlier this month, Jon Jones had teased the MMA sphere about a “huge announcement” that he’d be making. The internet exploded at the possibilities. Perhaps it would be about the long-awaited showdown with interim heavyweight champion, Tom Aspinall? Or maybe even the announcement of a super fight against light heavyweight king, Alex Pereira?
But when the reigning undisputed heavyweight champion finally spoke, it wasn’t about the Octagon. Instead, Jones shocked fans by throwing his weight behind ‘Power to the Patients’, a movement demanding transparency in medical costs. Now, with President Donald Trump signing an executive order targeting price secrecy in the $4.9 trillion healthcare industry, Jones has made it clear where he stands.
In a post on his Instagram account, ‘Bones’ stated, “Thank you @POTUS for signing your Executive Order for Healthcare Price Transparency today.”

According to the official White House fact sheet, “The order directs the Departments of the Treasury, Labor, and Health and Human Services to rapidly implement and enforce the Trump healthcare price transparency regulations, which were slow walked by the prior administration.”
The order directs key federal departments to enforce these transparency measures. It aims to strip away the secrecy that allows hospitals and insurance companies to hike prices unchecked. With the estimates in the fact sheet suggesting these reforms could save Americans up to $80 billion by 2025, the impact is undeniable.
As such, Jones further wrote, “This marks a historic and triumphant day empowering patients, workers, employers, and unions with upfront prices and transparency in healthcare!”

He also tagged Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in the caption for the post, who was confirmed as the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently.

Is Jon Jones's healthcare fight a distraction from the real action fans crave in the Octagon?
Have an interesting take?
Jones’s commitment to this cause goes beyond a single post on social media. The champion’s partnership with ‘Power to the Patients’ is proof of that. In a statement after his earlier announcement, ‘Bones’ had confessed that he watched loved ones hesitate to seek care, knowing the financial blow could be worse than the illness itself.
According to Jones, “While this may not be a traditional fight for me, it’s obvious that too many Americans are being hurt and forced into medical debt or bankruptcy by a Healthcare System so greedy that hospitals and insurers hide their actual prices so they can charge us whatever they want.”
With a multi-trillion-dollar industry on notice, the question remains, will this order be the knockout blow needed to finally force hospitals and insurers to play fair? Jon Jones has made his stance clear, but the real fight is far from over. And with one massive win in the bag, perhaps now it’s time he’ll focus on the battle that awaits him inside the Octagon!
Dana White tells fans to “relax” as still no signs of a Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall fight
Jon Jones has locked in his latest win, but the Octagon still waits. The undisputed heavyweight king has yet to face his next challenge, and all eyes remain on one name, Tom Aspinall. But here’s the problem, Dana White’s stance on the fight keeps the fans on their toes.

Not long ago, the UFC boss had his doubts about the matchup. Talking to ‘The Mac Life’ back in January, White had shared, “Jon Jones isn’t afraid of anybody and Jon Jones will fight anybody. It’s just a matter of getting the fight done now. That’s our job. If we don’t get the fight done, we move on, and we make another fight. ”
That led to a lot of concern among the fans. After all, Aspinall has been sitting on the sidelines since his last fight against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304 in 2024. But fast forward a few weeks, White’s message is now different.
During a recent live stream, he responded to impatient fans by reading a comment that stated, “We’re not getting Jon vs. Tom ever”. White’s response? In his trademark manner, he dismissed the fears by stating, “Yes you will, it’s coming. Relax.”
