Is Jon Jones truly the GOAT, or is his legacy overshadowed by controversy?

After the DWCS (Dana White’s Contender Series) 69, the UFC boss challenged the media present, “Who’s better than Jon Jones? Who’s pound-for pound better than Jon Jones?”. It’s a question that has fueled debates across the MMA world. But recently, Jon Jones got a monumental vote of confidence, not only from White but from a former U.S. President!

Jones is currently gearing up to take on Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 in a highly anticipated clash between the two legends. Yet, amid intense training, he took a moment to do something unexpected and shared a picture of himself in a voting booth along with a message that struck a chord with the fans. It all began with a shoutout from two unexpected supporters: podcast titan Joe Rogan and former President Donald Trump. The JRE episode 2219 featuring the former president has gathered massive views since it was uploaded on October 26 on YouTube and other platforms. During their conversation, Trump, curious and candid, probed Rogan on the greatest UFC fighter of all time.

The JRE host, who often keeps his opinions broad, narrowed in on Jones with confidence. “Jon Jones, most people would say is the greatest of all time. Never lost, there’s certainly a really good argument for that.,” Rogan remarked, noting Jones’s rare undefeated record with his only loss coming via a DQ.

And Jones didn’t let this recognition go unnoticed! In a recent post shared on his Instagram account, ‘Bones’ stated, “Just voted for the first time, and I’m feeling like a proud American! The registration process was super easy, and I can’t stress enough how worth it this feels. Huge thanks to Joe Rogan and @realdonaldtrump for mentioning me in your last podcast.”

But his voice carried more than just excitement—it carried a call to action. The champion went on to share, “To all my fellow Americans, especially the young ones: get out there and vote! It’s your voice, your power—let’s use it!” This nod of approval from both Rogan and Trump wasn’t just recognition—it was validation. In a career as storied and intense as Jones’s, being singled out among fighters is monumental. With Rogan declaring Jones among the ‘GOATs’ and Trump’s platform magnifying that claim, it was an acknowledgment few athletes ever receive, and ‘Bones’ repaid it in kind with his post.

However, while the recent conversations about UFC 309 have been dominated by Jon Jones and his return, Stipe Miocic has quietly been hard at work and has laid out his game plan for when he steps into the cage against ‘Bones’!

Stipe Miocic isn’t fazed by “whatever” Jones is planning for their fight

As UFC 309 approaches, the anticipation is electric. The Octagon at Madison Square Garden is ready, and so is Stipe Miocic. Though the MMA world buzzes with predictions, Miocic has been uncharacteristically quiet, his focus honed on this momentous clash. The heavyweight legend will be making his return to action for the first time since 2021. That’s a long time away from the cage, and fans have wondered: can the former champ reclaim his crown?

In a recent appearance on the ‘BS w/Jake Paul’ podcast, Miocic confessed, “It’s finally here. It was supposed to happen last year, unfortunately an injury took it away, but here we are. We’re three weeks away. I’m ready, man. I’ve been pumped. I keep quiet. I focus on task at hand, just worry about my fight.”

‘Bones’ claimed the heavyweight title by submitting Ciryl Gane at UFC 285, showcasing his power and agility. But Miocic isn’t shaken as he further revealed, “Jon Jones does a lot of things good, but I have great coaches, great teammates, and they make me prepared for whatever happens, I’m not going to wait for what he’s going to do, I’m going to do what I want to do.”

And so, Jon Jones, fueled by praise from giants like Joe Rogan and Donald Trump, has channeled his momentum into not only defending his title but inspiring fans to get involved in their communities. Meanwhile, Stipe Miocic has remained laser-focused, silently preparing to reclaim his crown. Who do you think will come out on top when these two titans clash at UFC 309?
