Is Michael 'Venom' Page's alleged bribe the lowest move in MMA history?

Rising Irish star Ian Garry recently accused his recent opponent Michael ‘Venom’ Page of some wrongdoings before defeating him at UFC 303. ‘The Future’ claimed that ‘Venom’ allegedly tried to bribe his team for information on his training for their fight, and guess what? A member of Garry’s gym has come out to confirm that those accusations are indeed true.

When Ian Garry met Michael ‘Venom’ Page at the pre-fight UFC 303 presser, he immediately said, “Your little rat Jiu-Jitsu coach offered money to one of my Brazilian friends and you got nothing,” to the British star. But if that was the truth, there wasn’t much to substantiate those allegations. Well, that was until now because Charles Oliveira‘s gym, Chut Boxe, where Garry trains as well, has a fighter who revealed what went down.

Yes, Ian Garry was indeed in trouble for getting cheated before his UFC 303 fight. Although these accusations on Michael ‘Venom’ Page aren’t applicable in a fight as many people appeared to dismiss them. But guess what has happened now? 2-0 Brazilian MMA fighter and member of Charles Oliveira’s Chute Boxe gym, Matheus Terra, claims that an individual who trains at ‘MVP’s gym in London, approached him for some information almost a month before the fight when he thought the man had some other business in mind.

“He called me and asked if I needed money. I thought he was going to invite me to teach seminars there or maybe fight, but he came with this offer,” Matheus Terra revealed to ‘MMA Fighting’. The amount that was offered to him was in fact, more than the low-tier UFC fighters make for one fight, around $10,000. ‘MVP’s representative appeared a bit desperate given that he was willing to splash the cash.

“He wanted me to film [his training] and share Ian Garry’s gameplan with them, and they would pay me a $10,000 reward,” Matheus Terra further stated. But loyalty was the word of that moment for Ian Garry’s gym mate and he declined that offer only to let ‘The Future’ in on the situation.

Have an interesting take?

“Even though I’m not close to [Garry], he’s a member of my team. It’s about loyalty … It’s a lot of f***ing money, and I need it, but I can’t. Don’t get me wrong, brother,” Matheus Terra added. But what does the boss Dana White have to say about these accusations? Let’s hear from the CEO himself.

Did Dana White know about ‘MVP’s cheating tactics?

Dana White, following the UFC 303 PPV, claimed that these accusations are just a part of “mental warfare.” But of course, he was not aware of any shady game plans from either Ian Garry or Michael ‘Venom’ Page. However, White doesn’t think such acts are reprimandable, unlike in some of the other sports. He just felt like it was a part of Garry’s plans to mentally de-stabilize ‘MVP’ ahead of their welterweight clash.

“Mental warfare. I have no f***ing idea. If he was trying to spend money to get to somebody into the camp, what would he be charged with if that was the case? This ain’t the NFL, this kinda stuff happens. To me, sounds like mental warfare. He’s [Ian Garry] trying to get into his head. You guys probably know more than me,” Dana White stated at the Power Slap 8 press conference.

So far, there has been no investigation into Ian Garry’s accusations of ‘MVP’ from either the UFC or the commission. But can these new revelations change that situation? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
