Former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen is a vocal host on his YouTube channel. Ever since he ended his MMA career, he has been voicing his opinions and spreading wisdom about the fight game. In his recent video, ‘The American Gangster’ spoke about the Hollywood debut of Conor McGregor in the Road House remake.

The American MMA fighter believes Conor McGregor cannot crack a Hollywood blockbuster and make it work for him, like a certain MMA Legend.
“… Sometimes that works, not very often,” the people’s champion says discussing the prospect of a UFC fighter breaking into Hollywood and getting success from it. “The only person I’ve seen it work for is Rampage Jackson. He went and did, B.A Baracus in A-Team… Movie blew up, it was incredible! He was bigger than ever.”
The American Martial Artist discussed how MMA fighters, when at the top of their game, usually find a ticket to Hollywood. However, he claimed, “It doesn’t work that way.”
The A-Team was a clean box-office hit and made Quinton Jackson bigger than he already was. A Hollywood outing feels to be a step up in someone’s career, but depending on the result of the film, it can have an adverse effect. How will it fare for Conor McGregor?
How will the trip to Hollywood weigh on Conor McGregor?
Through his larger-than-life persona, Conor McGregor has catapulted the UFC into a worldwide phenomenon. In a way, the $200 million worth star has already achieved the fame of a “Hollywood star” just through his public appearances.
“His (McGregor’s) brand grows up, even more, he comes in… Who’s he gonna fight?” The people’s champion confided that despite his worries, he is sure that McGregor will be welcomed back into the Octagon with open arms.

“Conor is still the biggest star. Red p*nty night still holds up,” Sonnen said, insinuating that a fight with ‘The Notorious’ elevates a fighter to a higher status. The former UFC middleweight title challenger added, “Do you wanna know who’s got 1,2,3,4 and 5?- McGregor, McGregor, McGregor, McGregor, and McGregor.”

MMA fans can have strong opinions about ‘The Notorious’. Some love to see the man win; Others love to see him lose. But at the end of the day, all of them will pay to see him fight in the Octagon.
